American Girl. Meet Corrine Tan.
My Role: Senior Copywriter
A dream project for my 10-year-old self, I helped create a campaign for Vox Media to announce the 2022 American Girl of the Year, Corinne Tan. In honor of Corinne’s dream of being a ski patrol dog trainer, we traveled to Aspen, Colorado, to interview dog trainer Lori Spence for a family-friendly, long-form social video with The Dodo Kids. The video was part docu-style, part scripted, and a whole lot of fun.
We introduced Corinne to the world by envisioning and building “The Chalet” in Aspen on New Year’s Day, an experiential pop-up event sponsored by Popsugar that let people visit the newest American Girl’s home. For those who couldn’t make it to snowy Colorado, I wrote a 20-minute live streamed event hosted by Olympic skater Tara Lipinski that included games, crafts, guest stars, and a special appearance on The Today Show.
